The epic for the young
The Shahnameh is full of stories children love: heroes and kings, the white bird Simurgh, the dragon, the great warrior Rostam. Many families tell them aloud, but there are few good bilingual books that let a child read the story in both languages.
What it could be
A set of short, illustrated chapters, one tale each, with the Persian text and an English retelling side by side. Artists could draw on the old manuscript tradition, and readers could record audio versions for bedtime.
