Why a circle
Many children of the diaspora understand Persian at the family table but rarely get to speak it with anyone outside it. A circle is a small, friendly place to practise: a prompt, a few turns each, and plenty of laughing at mistakes.
How it could run
Groups of four to six meet on video. Each session starts with a topic, such as a family recipe, a favourite song or a trip, and the host nudges people to answer in Persian first. The Word of the day gives everyone a shared vocabulary to start from.
Join the idea
Tell the Mehmooni group when you would like to take part, and whether you want to speak, listen or host.
